Tour Details

The Sacred Valley, located in the Urubamba area, was a source of sustenance for the Inca society due to its excellent biological floors at various levels. Its principal crops are white maize, potatoes, coca, fruits, and vegetables, all of which are being cultivated today.

This two-day journey will transport you to the Inca Empire, with stops at the ancient sites of Ollantaytambo and Pisac in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which were used for the empire’s agricultural and administrative activities.

On the second and most anticipated day, you will see Machu Picchu, Peru’s pride and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located on the crest of a mountain in the Peruvian Andes.

This journey will take you to some of the most beautiful spots in the Sacred Valley, the Machu Picchu citadel, Andean farms, and the entire Urubamba River scenery, as well as fill your lungs with the freshest air.

To complete this journey, we recommend staying in Cusco for a few days or taking our Cusco City Tour to acclimate to the high altitude climate and avoid altitude sickness.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at the indicated time to take you in our private transport through the Sacred Valley until you reach the beautiful town of Pisac, where our guide will give you a tour of the life and culture of this town.

Pisac

Famous for its astronomical observatory, this beautiful town has a traditional market, where you can see the different crafts that the locals make with their own hands, and an archaeological site that hides mysteries and history in its walls.

With an extension of 4 square kilometers of surface, the archaeological site of Pisac presents platforms, aqueducts, roads associated with walls and portals, channeled watercourses, cemeteries, bridges and more attractions that our guide will give you more information and will take you around the site.

After visiting these impressive archaeological remains built by the Incas, we will go to Urubamba. Here we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.

Ollantaytambo

After lunch we will go to the beautiful town of narrow cobbled streets almost intact since the time of the Incas, Ollantaytambo.

This city was important for the Inca civilization as it was the administrative capital of the Inca civilization. Ollantaytambo is a clear testimony of the progress of Inca architecture and urbanism.

Our guide will take you on a tour of the Inca ruins, where you will discover more about the Inca civilisation. After this excursion, you will board a train that will transport you to Aguas Calientes, a rustic village.

The train trip down the Urubamba River is a feast for the eyes, with views of Andean fields and rural settlements.

Our crew will be ready for you when you arrive in Aguas Calientes to transport you to your hotel. You will have free time to eat supper, rest, or visit the town of Aguas Calientes, which is known for its medical hot springs.

You’ll meet our guide at your hotel, and he’ll give you directions for our long-awaited day.

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

Early in the morning the hotel staff will give you a box of snacks. Then we will take you to the bus terminal where you will board the bus that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Upon reaching the entrance of the citadel, you will go through a control. Here they will verify your passport, so we recommend you bring your original passport.

After passing the control with our guide, you will tour the entire citadel and obtain more information about the culture and history of the Inca civilization.

Following the tour with our guide, you will have the opportunity to explore the citadel on your own; we recommend going to the sun gate, which provides a wonderful perspective of this global wonder.

Our guide will lead you to the entrance if you have booked a hike to Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain.

After visiting this wonder, you will board the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes. Here you will have free time so you can have lunch or get to know the town.

Finally you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo town where our driver awaits you to take you back to Cusco to your accommodation.
