Cachicata Trek is an off the beaten track day hike in Cusco. Drive to the largest Inca quarry in the world. This trail is rich in both history and natural beauty.
Ollantaytambo, a well-known town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, served as the administrative center of the Incas. Pachacutec, the Inca monarch, directed the construction of several monuments, including Machu Picchu and Choquequirao.
In Ollantaytambo he also carried out a rapid development. The town has some of the most beautiful Inca stone constructions in the entire Sacred Valley. And it is in Cachicata where the stones used in the construction were cut and carved.
Many of the stones are found in the same town of Ollantaytambo and on the way to the quarry, which means that the Inca civilization was on the way to build another monument, but everything stopped due to the Spanish invasion.
This tour will transport you to the time of the Inca Civilization, since you will walk the path where the stones were transported from the Quarry to different places.
You will also visit Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol. It is located 450 meters above the quarry.

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco in our private transportation. We will take you through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo.
Upon reaching Ollantaytambo we will cross a bridge and follow the course of the Urubamba River. We will walk along a path for two and a half hours. We will stop along the way to observe the stones that were in the process of being moved.
Upon arrival at the Quarry we will tour the place enjoying the entire landscape that surrounds it. If you wish, you can walk one meter to see the Inti Punku. This place offers an impressive view of the Cachicata.
After touring the place we will return along the road to Ollantaytambo. Our private transportation will take you back to Cusco. We will arrive at night.
