Ausangate located in the cordiellera de Vilcanota, is one of the favorite places for nature lovers and hiking. The walk to this place is one of the most famous in Peru. On a clear day this imposing mountain dominates the southern horizon of Cusco with its 6,380 meters of altitude.
In addition, this place is located near the Sinakara Valley. Here the pregrination to the Lord of Qoyllur Rit’i is carried out. A custom that is carried out every year in the months of June and July.
During our 5-day tour you will be able to walk over the Andean landscapes. A remote and untouched road full of traditional villages. You will pass through the high mountains, alpine lakes, glacial logos with crystal clear waters and all the amazing landscape that surrounds it.
A challenge that you will have during this tour is the Palomani Pass. Located at 5,200 meters, the highest point of the walk. So we recommend you to spend a few days in Cusco, take our sacred Valley Tour until you acclimatize to cold climates.

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will take you through the Southern Valley of Cusco in our private transport to the town of Urcos. We will arrive at Tinqui Ocongate.
You will start the adventure by walking to Quinsapucyu. The path offers breathtaking views of the Ausangate Mountain. You will also be able to see intact Andean communities.
Finally we will arrive at Upis, this will be the place where we will spend the night in a comfortable tent. After a delicious lunch you can walk around the surroundings and rest.
Very early in the morning we will wake you up with a delicious Andean breakfast. We will continue our tour ascending to the Arapa Pass. Located at 4, 958 meters above sea level.
We will continue with a descent to Lake Pucacocha. This will be the place where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. After lunch we will walk uphill to our econd step, the Pucacocha Step. Located 5,000 meters.
Finally we will walk downhill for two hours to Ananta. We’re camping here tonight. Along the way you will be able to appreciate glacier peaks, rivers, lakes, Andean animals such as alpacas and llamas, and Andean communities.
Very early in the morning we will wake you up with a delicious Andean breakfast. We will continue our adventure by walking to the Surini Pass. Located at 5,051 meters above sea level. From this place you can see the Mountain of 7 colors in the distance.
We will continue walking downhill to a crystal clear lake. After enjoying this landscape we will continue walking uphill until we reach the Mountain of Colors.
After enjoying the colorful landscape offered by this mountain and all the landscape that surrounds it, we will walk to Alqatari.
Upon arrival we will enjoy a delicious lunch. You will have the afternoon free so you can rest before spending the night in our comfortable tents.
Early in the morning we will wake you up with a delicious Andean breakfast. We will continue the hike to the highest point of the route, the Palomani Pass. Located at 5,300 meters.
This place is the highest of all the hikes in Cusco. Upon arrival you will be able to see the Andean condors flying. It will be at the foot of the Ausangate Mountain. This is a sacred place for the inhabitants of the area.
The route to this place is full of views of different glacier peaks, bubbling streams, rivers, small lakes, chinchillas, alpacas, local shepherds and llamas.
After appreciating the beautiful Andean landscapes we will continue walking downhill to the village of huchuy Phinaya. This will be the place where we will have lunch.
Finally we will walk to our camp. After a delicious dinner you can rest in our comfortable tents.
After a delicious Andean breakfast, we will continue the hike. We will walk uphill for three hours to the last Step. Located at 4, 900 meters.
Upon arrival you will be able to see more glacier peaks and lakes. Then we will continue with a descent to the seven lagoons. This place is full of beautiful landscapes offered by the Apu Ausangate.
We will continue walking to Pacchanta. Here you will enjoy a delicious lunch. If you want you can relax in the thermal baths that are close to the place.
Finally we will say goodbye to our muleteers, before boarding the private transport that will take you back to Cusco. The trip takes about 3 hours.
