Tour Details

During the time of the Inca empire several bridges were created throughout the Inca’s area, these bridges were hung made of vegetable fibers, and their creation was owing to the harsh topography of the Andes mountain range, which hindered linking certain villages with others.

Q’eswachaka is the final Inca bridge still standing, and the towns of Chaupibanda, Choccayhua, Huinchiri, and Ccollana Quehue renew their commitment to its preservation every year during the second week of June.

It is a unique four-day event that has been acknowledged by major television networks such as NOVA and BBC. Also the Q’eswachaka bridge was designated as cultural property by the Peruvian government in 2009.

It is located in the district of Quehue, province of Canas, about three and a half hours from the city of Cusco at an altitude of 3,700 meters above the Apurimac River. This bridge is 29 meters long and 1.20 meters wide.

This full day tour will take you to the Inca civilization, who demonstrated a great technological advance despite the rugged geographies that Cusco has. So don’t wait any longer and meet the last bridge of the Inca civilization.
