You will discover more about the Inca culture and some of the ways they created their recent Incas throughout this four day tour. The quarries of Cachicata, the impressive views of the terrain, the Andean farms and the spectacular citadel of Machu Picchu will be seen throughout the trip.
The Cachicata quarries, a few kilometers from Ollantaytambo, were a place where stones were extracted and carved for use in the construction of Ollantaytambo and other ancient monuments.
Molle Pucro, Sikusirkuyoc and Cacchicata or Kantirayoq are the three groups of known quarries; the latter was used for the extraction of minerals and precious stones.
Many of the stones that were being transported by the Incas can still be seen on the way to Ollantaytambo and others in some points of the city of Ollantaytambo.
This is a unique adventure full of nature, history and culture. You will travel the Inca trail from the Ollantaytambo Quarries to the world wonder Machu Picchu.
