One of Cusco’s most popular day trips is the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain tour. Each day, more than 800 hikers, who like nature and mountain expeditions, visit this beautiful peak located in the South of Cusco.
The Vilcanota mountain range includes Apu Vinicunca. Since its discovery in 2016, this mountain has become a famous tourist destination.
The Apu Vinicunca’s hue is the result of a geological formation formed through time by a mix of marine, lacustrine, and fluvial materials. The oxidation of the area, induced by the meeting of minerals pulled by the mountain range’s rivers, winds, and humidity, has enabled the mountain to acquire that amazing diversity of tonalities.

Vinicunca Peru’s Rainbow Mountain is 5,200 meters (17,000 ft) above sea level. To avoid altitude sickness, we recommend being physically active and acclimatized.
Cusco Hotel Transfer

We will take you up from your Cusco hotel very early in the morning.
After that, we will drive you for two hours via Cusco’s South Valley to Cusipata, where we will have breakfast at a local restaurant.
We will transport you to the trailhead for one hour after you have had your excellent breakfast.
Before beginning the trek, our guide will give you a safety briefing. If you don’t want to walk, you can rent a horse here for a set amount.
After a two-hour hike, you’ll be able to observe Andean farms where certain Andean camelids, such as alpacas and llamas, are bred.
Our guide will provide you with crucial information about the residents’ lives and some of their traditional rituals once you reach the top of the mountain.
You can travel a few meters to see the Red Valley if you desire.
After taking in the breathtaking scenery, we will return to the start of the walk, where our driver will be ready to transfer you to Cusco and drop you off at your designated lodging.
