The four-day Inca Trail, considered one of the best treks in South America and Peru, is a 43-kilometre journey along historic Inca trails to Machu Picchu, where you will explore archaeological sites such as Wiñay Wayna and other Inca monuments.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - KM82 - Llactapata - Wayllabamba

Our private vehicle will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at the specified time and transport you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Ollantaytambo train station, where the experience will begin with a two-hour scenic drive to the starting point of the tour. the Inca trek at Km. 82.

Upon reaching km 82 we will go through a security check, and you will have to show your real passport. We will continue our tour seeing ancient sites and walking along the banks of the Urubamba River until we reach Miskay, a small town where we will have lunch.

After the delicious lunch we will continue our adventure ascending to a small plateau, this place will delight us with beautiful views of the entire Andean landscape and the archaeological site of Llactapata.

Finally after visiting this site we will go to Wayllabamba. Our team will set up camp where you will spend the night in a comfortable tent after our cooks delight us with a delicious meal.

Day 2Wayllabamba - Ayapata - Pacaymayu

Very early in the morning we will wake you up with a delicious breakfast to continue our adventure and continue walking for approximately one hour towards the Ayapata Valley.

We will travel through beautiful landscapes, trails and even a strange bridge that leads to a cloud forest along the route.

Finally, we will reach the highest point of the trek, the Warmihuañusca pass, which in Quechua means “when the lady dies”.

After enjoying the impressive views that this pass offers, we will descend to a valley full of varied birds and vegetation for lunch.

We will continue walking until we reach the Pacaymayu river valley. Here will be our second camp for the night. We will have a fantastic meal and stay in a cozy and well equipped tent.

Day 3Pacaymayu - Runkuracay - Sayaqmarca - Phuyupatamarca - Wiñayhuayna

We will have a great breakfast early in the morning before continuing our tour to the semi-circular archaeological site of Runkuracay.

We will go up to a lagoon after touring this site and continue until we reach the archaeological site of Sayaqmarca.
Later we will continue climbing until we reach the third and last step, where we will witness the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, which is located on the edge of a ravine.

We will continue our trip to Wiñayhuayna after touring these sites. Here will be our last camp where we will spend the night.

Day 4Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

The awaited day has arrived and we will have our big final breakfast before continuing our journey towards Intipunku or Puerta del Sol.

From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the citadel of Machu Picchu as well as the rays of the sun that reach the fortress at dawn.

Following this impressive view, we will descend to the citadel, where our guide will take us on a two-hour tour of the fortress. You will then have free time to explore the fortress on your own. Our guide will take you to the entrance if you have booked a trek to Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu mountain.

After touring the citadel we will go down by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Here our private transportation will be waiting to take you to Cusco and drop you off at your accommodation for the night.
